Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost?
Individual sessions are charged at £50 per 50 minute session.
How long is each session and how many will I need?
Individual sessions last 50 minutes and I offer counselling for as long as you feel you need it. Throughout the time we work together we will regularly review how we are getting on.
How often should I come for counselling?
It is helpful to come weekly at the same day and time. I appreciate sometimes people may need to be flexible and I will do my best to accomodate this.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes, absolutely. Counselling is strictly private and anything that is discussed is confidential between you and myself. There are certain rare legal exceptions, such as, if there is reason to believe a client is at risk to either self or others, a previously undisclosed crime has been committed, and/or where it is found that children are at risk. This will be clarified at our first session.
When are appointments available?
I can offer appointment times during weekdays and some evenings. I can also offer some early morning appointments. The availability of appointments varies but I can advise you of this when you first call.
Where is the counselling room?
I work from my private practice in Enfield Town, using a quiet room where we would not be disturbed. You can find more details by clicking here.
What if I need to cancel a session?
Please give a minimum of 24 hours notice by calling me on 07709 588 782 or email me at email@example.com. Should you cancel giving less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend a session the full fee will be charged, and it is requested that this is paid at next session or sent by cheque through the post.
I’m not sure counselling is for me?
Simply book one initial 50 minute assessment session, to help you clarify if counselling would be beneficial. If after one session you do not feel it is right, that’s fine - at least you have explored a new possibility. However, you may feel it is beneficial for you to continue with counselling.
Do you offer counselling or supervision for student and trainee counsellors?
Yes. I have a limited number of special rate sessions for students and trainees during the daytime, please contact me to discuss how I may be able to help.
How do I contact you?
When you are ready to talk please phone me on 07709 788 582. If you reach my voicemail please leave a message suggesting a suitable time for me to call you back, or please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like more information.
There is no obligation to book an appointment. If you have any other questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
